THE AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS YOUTH LEAGUE (ANCYL)was established in 1944 to represent the youth in the growing campaign against apartheid by the ANC. Early leaders included Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu and Oliver Tambo; who would all later graduate to become ANC stalwarts. The current ANCYL leader is Julius Malema.
