Silence of the icons

RETIRED AND RESIGNED: Most South African cartoonists will tell you that drawing a cartoon that is critical of our respected elders is one of the most difficult things to do. In this cartoon however, DOV FEDLER has managed to raise an important point without showing any disrespect towards three such icons. In it he implores of Mandela, Tutu and Gordimer: "Where are your voices now, when they are needed so badly?"
