THE CREATION OF MANDELA? Andy’s very good likeness of a chubbier Mandela was informed by old photographs of before he was jailed, and impressions imagined by artists during Mandela's imprisonment. Cartoonist’s caricatures began to evolve to become more accurate depictions of Mandela's current self, as would their initial perceptions of him to the point where they would later ask "Who created whom?"
